Vintage Garden Syringe Sprayers

Back Tinplate Syringes

The syringe pictured below was manufactured by Testar and Swain, Birmingham. The main barrel is tinplate and the barrel end cap is made of wood, secured with two screws. It uses two leather cup washers in the same way as the normal brass syringes and replacement of these is the same as for the brass syringes, however, if you make your own washers then this syringe shouldn’t be used a mould. Although it works this is one of the few syringes which I will be keeping as an example of the type and will not be using, because it will rapidly rust.
